Match to Merge Survivor for Reciprocal Records
I'm importing a large number of relationships, where the source data is older. While we've been preparing data in excel to import using BVDL, data cleaning has happened, which has resulted in records being merged. Where the Primary record has been merged, you can set the import to 'Automatically match to merge survivor', which will search for an Alternate Lookup ID of a specified type using the Constituent Lookup ID of the record that you're trying to update.
There doesn't appear to be a way to do this with a Reciprocal record on a Relationship that you're importing, however. When this occurs you get an exception like 'Invalid reciprocal constituent lookup id: 8-12941706'. Each record then needs to be manually amended with the Lookup ID of the merge survivor. Unfortunately, it's not possible to copy from the Errors window in the Exception Handling view, and the field that the Reciprocal Lookup ID is mapped to is actually a lookup field, so it doesn't contain the Lookup ID either. You can click on that search window, move it so you can see the Error window, and type this out (works fine, just that it's possible to mistype the ID), or you can go back to the main Exceptions list, select a single exception to view, click Apply, copy the Reciprocal Lookup ID from the Exception drop down, go into the record it relates to (as you've now filtered so you have the right record) and then paste this into the Related Constituent search window.
If I've missed something and this is already possible, please let me know! Otherwise I think this would be a great addition for the future.
